Frequently Asked Questions
01) "How long until I actually feel something?"
Like all supplements this answer varies from person to person, however, most people feel something from our mushroom coffee within their first cup, while the deeper adaptogenic and nootropic benefits build with consistent use. Because we grow our own lion’s mane and source organic ashwagandha, clove, and organic Saigon cinnamon, you’re getting clean, potent adaptogens that actually do their job without any corporate or ingredient compromise. Here is a quick table that highlights common time tables on effects based off consistent use.
| 0-1 Hour |
Smooth Energy, Digestive Comfort, Subtle Clarity |
| 1-3 Hours |
Mild Calming Effects |
| 1-2 Weeks |
Better Focus, Improved Stress Balance |
| 4-8 Weeks |
Full Adaptogenic + Nootropic Effects |
2) Is This Fruiting Body or Mycelium on Grain?
The Short Answer: We use real lion's mane mushrooms - never mycelium grown on grain.
🍄We Grow the Lion's Mane Ourselves
Because we grew the Lions Mane we get to harvest it the right way - whole, mature fruiting bodies, picked when theyre actually ready. No bulk powders, no mystery blends.
🍄What about the Mycelium?
Before lion’s mane fruits, it forms a layer of mycelium tissue on the outside of the block.
This isn’t grain.
This isn’t filler.
It’s just the mushroom doing its thing.
We collect that clean mycelium, freeze‑dry it, powder it, and use it in our alcohol extract. It’s all mushroom — just a different stage of the same organism.
🍄Dual‑Extracted for Real Potency
Both the fruiting bodies and the pure mycelium tissue go through our dual‑extraction process.
That’s how we get a full‑spectrum lion’s mane extract — 800mg or 1600mg per serving (depending on your preferred dosage)— both engineered to reflect recommended supplemental dose.
3) Is it safe if I'm on medication / pregnant?
First things first: If you’re pregnant, nursing, or taking medication, it’s important to check with your doctor before adding any functional mushrooms or adaptogens to your routine. That’s the safest move for you and your baby.
Our coffee is made with organic adaptogens and lion’s mane we grow ourselves, but it still contains functional ingredients like ashwagandha, lion’s mane, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon — all of which can interact differently depending on your health situation.
Everyone’s body is unique, and your healthcare provider will know what’s right for you.
4) Does it actually taste like coffee or like dirt?
It tastes like real coffee, because it is real coffee.
We use Counter Culture Forty‑Six, which already has natural dark‑chocolate notes, and the organic adaptogens in our blend actually enhance the flavors forward instead of covering them up.
The lion’s mane doesn’t make it taste earthy or “mushroom-y.” Most people don’t notice it at all.
We also add just a pinch of Celtic salt, which helps round out the flavor and keep the acidity low, so the cup comes out smooth, warm, and easy to drink.
If you like a smooth, chocolatey, low‑acid spiced coffee, you’ll feel right at home here no dirt flavor, promise!
5) How much caffeine is in a packet, or cup, vs regular coffee?
From how we brew the coffee and adaptogens; each 3g serving contains roughly 95mg-105mg of naturally occurring caffeine per serving. Similar to a drip.
6) Can I add creamer / milk / sweetener? Can I Mix This Into Iced Coffee or Cold Brew?
Absolutely! You can dress it up however you like. We don’t add any sugar or sweeteners to the mix, so if you normally take your coffee with cream, milk, or a little sweetness, go for it, (we prefer honey over here). That said, a lot of people end up drinking it straight because the organic cinnamon, clove, chamomile, and lion’s mane give it a naturally smooth, chocolate‑spice flavor on their own. Its like Fall in a Cup. Or you can drink it neat with just coffee and Lions Mane.
And yes, you can mix it into iced coffee or cold brew. In fact, colder temperatures are actually great for preserving the heat‑sensitive compounds in lion’s mane (especially the alcohol‑soluble ones), so cold or room‑temp drinks are totally fair game. Hot coffee works too just try to avoid boiling temperatures if you want to keep every bit of the mushroom goodness intact.
7) Has This Been 3rd Party Tested for Mold and Heavy Metals?
Right now, we ran a Complete Lions Mane Potency Panel with Altitude Consulting, but it is based off our previous ratio, 80:20, we now do a 60:40.

What does it mean?
⚡ Adenosine & Adenine
-
What it is: The natural energy regulators.
-
The Everyday Explanation: Think of Adenosine as your body’s built-in cellular battery. It plays a massive role in how your brain manages natural energy. When paired with your morning coffee, these compounds act like a governor on a vehicle they help smooth out the delivery of caffeine, protecting you from the anxious, heart-racing jitters and preventing that brutal 2:00 PM afternoon crash.
🧠 Erinacine C
-
What it is: The Mycelium-born brain rejuvenator.
-
The Everyday Explanation: This is a rare, highly sought-after compound found in the root-like network (mycelium) of the Lion's Mane organism. It is famous in scientific circles because its molecular structure is small enough to actually cross the blood-brain barrier. Once inside, it prompts your brain to synthesize Nerve Growth Factor (NGF)—essentially triggering your brain to repair, maintain, and grow healthy neural pathways. It’s what gives you that feeling of sharp, uninterrupted focus.
🎯 Hericenone C
-
What it is: The Fruiting Body memory booster.
-
The Everyday Explanation: While Erinacines come from the roots, Hericenones come from the beautiful, fluffy white mushroom "cap" itself (the fruiting body). Hericenone C works in perfect tandem with Erinacine C. It acts as a complementary brain stimulant that promotes cognitive resilience, sharper memory recall, and overall mental clarity.
🧬 Hypoxanthine
-
What it is: The cellular engine tuner.
-
The Everyday Explanation: Hypoxanthine sounds incredibly technical, but it is actually a naturally occurring compound that your body uses every single day to build DNA, RNA, and cellular energy systems. Think of it as a background mechanic for your metabolism. It works quietly behind the scenes to help your cells repair themselves, manage metabolic waste, and keep your body's energy production pathways running efficiently from the inside out.
Now with all this good why is there a ND on Erinacine A? 🔍
Our particular mushroom genetic profile is highly dominant in Erinacine C. This is due to us harvesting the mushroom material when it is ready to fruit. Erinacine A, is primarily dominate in one specific part of the lifecycle of Lions Mane; the liquid culture mycelium. Regardless You are still getting the full brain-boosting, nerve-protecting benefits of the mycelium—our strain just creates its magic using the 'C' pathway instead of the 'A' pathway.
So Why These Results?
We grow our lion’s mane ourselves
That means we control the substrate, the environment, the cleanliness, and the harvest. No mystery suppliers, no unknown growing conditions.
We use organic adaptogens
Our ashwagandha, cinnamon, clove, and chamomile are all organically sourced, which reduces the risk of contaminants compared to conventional bulk powders.
We brew and freeze‑dry everything in‑house
No co‑packers, no outsourced facilities. Every batch is brewed, strained, and freeze‑dried by us, which keeps the process clean and consistent.
We plan to add third‑party testing as we grow
As soon as we’re able, we’ll be adding full mold, mycotoxin, beta-glucens, and heavy‑metal testing. It’s important to us, and it’s part of our roadmap as a growing small business. If you want to help expedite our 3rd party testing, please buy one of our BTH T-shirts today!
